Welcome to your FORMULA Pursuit. This guide covers everything - from first charge to daily use on the course. Read through once, then keep it bookmarked as your go-to reference.
Safety Information
Your trolley is built to aviation-grade standards, but safe operation is your responsibility. Read these precautions before first use and keep them in mind every round.
General precautions
- Always operate your trolley in a safe and responsible manner.
- Do not use the trolley to transport people, animals, or heavy equipment.
- Do not operate the trolley under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Keep the trolley away from water, including puddles and rain whenever possible.
- Always keep the trolley within your line of sight during operation.
Safe use
- Practice in open areas to become familiar with the controls before first use.
- Be cautious on uneven, wet, steep, or unstable ground.
- Do not aim the trolley toward other people, vehicles, or hazards.
- Use extra caution near bridges, bunkers, sprinkler holes, ditches, cart paths, parking lots, water hazards, and steep drop-offs.
Battery safety
- Fully charge the battery before first use.
- Use only the supplied charger.
- Do not expose the battery to extreme temperatures.
- Do not submerge the battery in water.
- Disconnect the battery before storing the trolley for one week or longer.
Water and electronics do not mix. Damage caused by water submersion is not covered under warranty, and in the event of total submersion the manufacturer may recommend full replacement of the trolley.

Assembly & Setup
Set-up takes only a few minutes. Work through these steps in order - wheels first, then frame, then battery and bag.
Wheel installation
- Press the locking button on the wheel.
- Slide the wheel fully onto the axle until it seats over the drive pin.
- Confirm both wheels are fully engaged - they should not wobble.
Anti-tip wheel
- Pull out the anti-tip wheel locking pin.
- Slide the post into the receiver housing.
- Set to the extended operating position.
Frame & handle
- Release the frame lock by pressing down and moving the lock to the lowered position.
- Lift the frame until it clicks into place.
- Release the handle latch, raise to comfortable wrist height, re-latch securely.
Battery & bag
- Place the battery into the tray and press until it clicks.
- Set the bag on the lower rest, lean into the upper support.
- Pull the bungee handles around the bag and hook securely.
Center your bag weight evenly side-to-side before every round. Uneven weight is the most common cause of drifting - it takes 30 seconds to fix.
Main Display
The integrated display keeps battery levels and mode status in view at a glance. Here's what everything means.
Battery & status indicators

| Cart Battery bars (bottom) | Main trolley charge. 8 bars = full. Check before every round. |
| Remote Battery bars (upper) | Remote control charge. 8 bars = full. Check before every round. Upon initial startup, may take up to 1 minute to show charge level. |
| P | Park mode - trolley locked stationary. Press any direction to resume. |
| Rc | Remote is paired and communicating. |
| Fo | Follow Mode is engaged on the trolley. |
| Red bars | Reserve power. If only the red bars are visible, charge the battery. |
Recharge before your next round. A flat battery on the course means pushing in Free-Wheel Mode.
Master Your Modes
Your Pursuit operates in four distinct modes. Most rounds use a mix of all of them - here's which to use when, and how to enter each one.
WALKING BEHIND
Quiet holes, tight fairways, near hazards. You guide the handle at the speed dial.
Directing from a distance
Send the cart ahead while you read a putt, walk a line, or cross a hazard.
Hands completely free
Cart tracks the remote. Clip it to the center of your back and walk naturally.
Manual Mode
Hands-on control for tight, technical, or hazardous ground.
To Use
- Rotate the speed dial clockwise to increase speed.
- Press and release the speed dial to activate the motors.
- Press again to deactivate the motors.
When manually stopping, the display shows P for Park - the gears are engaged and the trolley is parked. Re-engage the motors and Park deactivates, moving the trolley forward.
Remote Mode
Drive and steer from the handset across open ground.
- Blue C → Cruise Control: cart leads at set speed in front of you
- Green F → enter Follow Mode (hold ~3 sec)
- Red → lock / unlock (tap); power on / off (hold)
- C + F held together → remote pairing mode
Follow Mode
Cart tracks the remote and follows you automatically.
Press and hold the Green F button for ~3 seconds to activate. Then clip the remote to the center of your back.
Clip to the small of your back - not a pocket, hand, or bag. The signal is directional. This is the most common setup mistake.
Push the trolley by hand by disengaging the drive wheels. Use only when the battery is out of power.
To disengage
- Depress the wheel release button.
- Slide each wheel approximately 1/4 inch away from the trolley to expose the drive pin.
- Lock the wheels into the free-wheel position.
- Confirm the wheels rotate freely by hand and are not engaged in drive mode.
To re-engage
Slide each wheel fully back onto the axle until it seats over the drive pin and clicks into place. Confirm both wheels are fully engaged before returning to powered operation.
Charging & Battery Care
Follow this sequence every time. The order matters - connecting in the wrong direction can shorten battery life.
Charging the main battery
- Plug the battery into the charger first.
- Confirm the battery LEDs illuminate, showing a proper connection.
- Plug the charger into the wall outlet.
- After charging, unplug the charger from the wall first, then disconnect the battery from the charger.
LED states
- Never leave the battery in an uncharged state.
- Recharge after every golf outing, even if you only played 9 holes.
- Avoid leaving the battery uncharged for extended periods.
- Charge the battery every 30 days during inactivity.
Care & Maintenance
Five minutes of care after a round keeps your Pursuit running for years.
Cleaning
- Never hose down the trolley.
- Never use a pressure washer on the trolley.
- Remove large debris with a cloth or air compressor.
- Wipe down using a clean, damp microfiber cloth.
- Regularly inspect and clean the wheels and axles so they turn freely.
- Clean out the battery tray regularly to ensure a secure connection.
Storage
- Disconnect the battery before storing for extended periods.
- Store the trolley and battery in a dry location.
- Keep components away from standing water and extreme temperatures.
Lubrication
- Lubricate the rear wheel axles regularly.
- Remove the rear wheels by depressing the spring clip and pulling the wheel off.
- Wipe the axle clean with a rag.
- Apply a very small amount of light lubricant to the axle.
If you play in sandy conditions, clean and re-lubricate the axles frequently.
Official Accessories
Each accessory installs without tools. The quick-start video includes a chapter for every one of them.
Scorecard Holder
Mounts to the handle bar. Keeps your card flat and readable in any weather.
Drink Holder
Large-capacity cup holder. Mounts to the handle bar frame. Fits most bottles and tumblers.
Remote Storage Clip
Belt-clip mount for your remote. Essential for Follow Mode - keeps it centered on your back.
Umbrella Holder
Adjustable angle. Fits standard and oversized umbrellas. Slots into the rear frame.
Sand & Seed Bottle
Attaches to the frame. Holds one full bottle - ready for every divot.
Troubleshooting
These fixes solve the majority of issues we hear about. Check them before calling us.
Trolley veers to one side
- Confirm the golf bag is balanced evenly.
- Make sure both drive wheels are fully engaged.
- Test on open, flat ground.
- If needed, motor trimming may require adjustment.
Battery not charging
- Confirm the charger is plugged into a working outlet.
- Confirm the charger light is illuminated.
- Confirm the battery LEDs illuminate when connected.
- If the outlet has power but the charger isn't working, the charger or power cable may be at fault.
Remote not responding
- Confirm the remote is unlocked.
- Confirm the remote is charged.
- Confirm the trolley is powered on.
- Pair the remote again if necessary.
Follow Mode issues
- Restart both the trolley and remote.
- Re-test in an open area.
- Confirm the remote is worn in the rear-center position.
- Avoid interference, obstructions, and close-proximity multi-cart follow operation.
Trolley stops randomly (display off)
- Remove the battery from the battery tray.
- Clear out any debris inside the tray.
- Reseat the battery until it locks with a click.
- Confirm the battery is secure before powering back on.
Software & firmware updates
There are no over-the-air updates. Any software or firmware update requires the unit to be returned to Cart Tek - it cannot be updated from home or on the course.
- If you believe your unit needs a firmware update, contact support before sending anything in.
- We'll confirm whether an update applies to your unit and arrange the return.
If problems continue, discontinue use and contact your dealer or customer support.
